Director

MUDr. Pavol Janega, PhD.

MUDr. Pavol Janega, PhD., is the director of MEDIREX GROUP ACADEMY, the science and research organization. In his position, he also applies the expertise he has acquired in MGA as a researcher since 2014. After graduation in general medicine at the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, he focused on post-graduate course in pathological anatomy and forensic medicine. This led him to work at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy of the Medical Faculty of Comenius University and the Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. Here, he participated in the implementation of multiple scientific research projects. He graduated in diagnostic molecular pathology at the Medical University of Graz in Austria. In his scientific career, he focuses predominantly on the issue of cancer tissue transformation and identification of new potential diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers. He is also involved in research related to lifestyle diseases, pathology of the cardiovascular system, experimental hypertension and experimental neurodegeneration. He is a member of the Slovak Medical Chamber (SMC), a member of the committee of the Society of Pathologists of the SMC and the European Society of Pathologists, where he is a member of the working group for molecular pathology, pediatric and perinatal pathology. He is the author or co-author of multiple publications and scientific papers and as a Fellow at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy of the Medical Faculty of Comenius University, he gives lectures at the university.

Board of Directors

The board is the supreme body of MGA as a non-profit organization. The board has three members:

Associate prof. MUDr. Peter Jackuliak, PhD.

He works at the 5th internal clinic of the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and at the University Hospital in Bratislava.

 

He was actively involved in the modernization of the teaching process of internal medicine by introducing teaching on simulators. He gives lectures at domestic and international forums and has authored multiple papers and articles in domestic and foreign professional journals. He is a member of several professional societies of the Slovak Medical Society.

Mgr. Peter Baráth, PhD.

He has extensive practical experience in the field of molecular biology, gene expression, protein purification from both recombinant and native sources, structural biology, protein chemistry and biological mass spectrometry. He was a successful principal investigator of domestic and foreign scientific projects (VEGA, 6th EU Framework Program). He is the author of a single patent and 39 CC articles in prestigious foreign journals.

Mgr. Michal Kajsík, PhD.

He currently works at Comenius University in Bratislava directly in the Scientific Park of Comenius University in the Department of Molecular Biology.


Michal Kajsík is a scientist working in the field of molecular biology, microbiology and biotechnology with a focus on working with bacteriophages, phage therapy, recombinant DNA techniques and protein analysis.

Foreign scientist

prof. MUDr. Tomáš Zima, DrSc., MBA

Professor Zima is a Czech chemist and professor in the field of biochemistry, clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine. Since 2014, he has been the rector of Charles University in Prague. He is the head of the Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and the General University Hospital in Prague.

Prof. MUDr. Juraj Payer, PhD., MPH, FRCP

Head of the 5th Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava and University Hospital in Bratislava, First Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. He has received numerous awards and honors such as Jessenius Award of Slovak Medical Society for his monograph titled Osteoporosis, Gold Medal for services to the Slovak Medical Society and others.

Foreign scientist

Prof. Dr. Bálint Nagy D.Sc.

He currently works as the head of the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Debrecen. Prof. Professor Nagy is a world-renowned expert in human genetics and genetic diagnostics.

Associate prof. RNDr. Miroslava Rabajdova, PhD.

She works at the Medical Faculty of UPJŠ in Košice as an associate professor at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry. She co-authored the patent PP50010-2020, as she is involved in the analysis of coding and non-coding RNAs in gynecological malignancies and infertility.

Associate prof. RNDr. Marek Stupák, PhD.

Associate Professor Stupák is a specialist in biochemistry. He works at the Institute of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ, as a Deputy Head for pedagogical activities. In his scientific work, he has so far focused on the structure and stability of biomacromolecules, mitochondrial and heme proteins.
